Our hydrating shots of young coconut water kefir are fermented, raw and unpasturised. The kefir shots have all the benefits of raw coconut water, without the sugar, as well as the benefits of fermentation. Every bottle of kefir is made by our hands in small batches to ensure you’re receiving the best possible product to enjoy in your morning or evening routine.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
The Kefir Company uses young coconut water instead of sugary water or dairy for fermentation. We wanted to offer an alternative for people avoiding irritating milk proteins, like casein. The liquid of the young coconut also has an abudance of minerals and its natural sugars make it the perfect medium for the growth of beneficial microflora. The kefir eats the sugar in the coconut water to create a effeversent and tangy drink.
We think less is more so we use a small number of carefully selected ingredients in our drinks. We use premium raw coconut water from the South Pacific. We hand drill each coconut and extract water from it and use this to make our kefir. The coconuts are all individually inspected because quality is important to us. There are no fillers or nasties in our kefir, plus there’s no added sugar or water, and it’s caffeine-free. It’s pure, simple and nourishing. Our drinks are alive and are never pasteurised (a process of sterilisation which can destroy the natural probiotics) because we want you to enjoy all the benefits possible. We use starters to ferment our coconut water because they have been proven to contain different strains of good bacteria. We add inulin in the form of Chicory Root Extract to act as a prebiotic for our probiotics to feed off.
WHAT IS THE GUT?
